W LONDON – HOTEL REVIEW

I celebrated my birthday last week and seeing as we can’t go abroad, I thought I would do a little staycation in London. I have stayed at a few of the W Hotels before but it was my first time visiting the one in London. There is 195 rooms / suites and it’s located in the heart of Leicester Square which I think is one of the best locations as you have Soho, Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus right on the doorstep!

It was my first time staying in a Hotel since COVID so I wasn’t really sure what to expect! They had a sanitizer station in the lobby which had wipes, disposable masks, hand gel and bottled water. The reception area had perspex screens at each desk and all of the staff were wearing masks. It was great to see the measures that they had put in place to ensure a safe and relaxing environment. The check in was smooth and the team were really welcoming, they even wished me a Happy Birthday!

This suite has to be up there with one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in! It was huuuuuge, especially for London where most hotel rooms are the size of a shoe box!  It was the Supreme Screening Suite which yep you guessed it, even has its own private cinema screen.

It was kitted out with the latest in-room technology and everything was controlled via an iPad at the side of the bed. The lights, electric curtains, TV, sound system, ambient lights, air conditioning; everything!  The 3m Sony 3D HD video projector screen really does make this room stand out, it literally felt like being in the cinema. Perfectly positioned in front of a super comfy king sized bed and you can even order movie snacks and cocktails with the in-room dining.

The bathroom and dressing area was amazing. A centre piece bathtub with a tv and even its own private steam room with walk in rain shower. It felt like being in our own spa with all of the complimentary ‘Bliss’ toiletries, bathrobes and slippers.

I do love a hotel breakfast and the W did not disappoint! I decided to have it delivered to the room and it was unreal, they had a great variety of dishes to choose from including the breakfast classics as well as healthy options. I went for the Eggs Florentine, egg-white omelette, green smoothie and fruit / granola bowl. They also do a bottomless brunch in The Perception Bar with unlimited Frosé for an hour and half which Is next on my list of places to try!
